Online Strategic Planning Kickoff

Management Team Workshop

More Information

Actionable strategic planning begins by identifying those aspects of the external and internal business environment which are relevant and timely to address during your planning discussions.

As a team gathered online, we will guide your discussion to decide what customer, product, service or distribution directions might fuel business growth. You will also identify pressing operational issues which must be addressed as a prerequisite for growth. Then you'll cluster and prioritize the issues. As much as possible we'll keep discussions at higher altitudes (marked with a red star on the chart).

If you decide to ask each of your team members to do a little preparation beforehand, we will offer guidance for that task, too. It won't take a lot of time, but it will make your discussions more efficient.

We require that one member of your team participate in our River Trip℠ workshop before this team session is held, to learn the planning process and to collaborate with us during the workshop.  We ask that person to stay online after the workshop for another 30 minutes to outline the next four planning steps and schedule a brief follow-up call, which is included in the workshop fee. Their River Trip℠ workshop fee can be applied as a deposit to the invoice for this management workshop.

A 24-page process map kit for each participant is required. They are invoiced at $35 per person in addition to the workshop fee. Maximum of ten participants.

Starting to develop or update your growth plan using this approach has several benefits:

  • The planning is focused from the very beginning, onto your current business situation. Strategic planning isn't long range or short term thinking. It ranges across time frames to put growth initiatives in place that will have both short and longer term impact on growth.

  • Each member of your team will have input from the very beginning. Their perspectives are valuable, because they are the ones in daily contact with customers, with employees, with vendors and any distribution or media partners. They know the market trends, and this is their chance to share that knowledge.

  • The odds of your plan actually getting implemented are significantly improved, because the additional work that emerges from your planning decisions has been limited to the issues you've selected.

We will honor confidentiality of all discussions. Ground rules include all cameras on and no recording or AI notetaking, without exception. We’ll take a 10-minute break about halfway through the 2-1/2 hour workshop.

Fall is our busy time of the year, so available dates are limited. Email us to propose timing that is right for you.
