Learning To Lead Strategic Planning

Powerful Online Professional Development Workshops

For Privately Held Businesses

Unlike public corporations with access to investment capital, most privately held businesses fund their own growth through profitability of current products and services. Strategic planning brings your management team into consensus on customer opportunities most ripe for investment and growth. Your River Trip℠ planning can also identify potential sources of internal growth resources, with a realistic sequence for implementing growth programs, without stealing much time from your already-packed calendars.

That’s the idea behind our Growth Management River Trip℠, customer-focused strategic planning, simplified. It’s a proven visual planning system developed specifically for management teams of growing privately-held businesses. With this approach, planning for business growth can be one of the most rewarding and enjoyable parts of a business career.

Management Team Private Workshop Agenda

There are tremendous synergies when everyone on the senior team uses a simple, common planning model, because the same approach can be used for strategy implementation teams, within all departments and for work groups.

  • Your team can be gathered in the same video conference room, on laptops in their own
locations or a hybrid of both. Maximum twelve participants. No preparation is required.

  • After introductions we’ll discuss your current approach to growth planning and offer an
overview of our “Growth Management River Trip” model. It simplifies planning and
guides a senior team from issues through strategic objectives, action plans and
    budgeting.

  • The primary agenda topic is a confidential group discussion of the “Crossroads Issues”
which your organization faces, especially those related to customers and profitability.
We’ll conclude that conversation by clustering and prioritizing the issues identified.

  • The next four process discussions actually use one cluster of your Crossroads Issues as a case study, to demonstrate the next steps for addressing strategic issues. You’ll have a
start on a growth plan update with the skills to complete and implement it.

  • Finally you’ll decide who on the team will provide leadership to address the other issues.

  • $3,500 fee. A 10% non-refundable deposit payable by credit card will hold the date.

  • Participant kits and a balance due invoice will be sent prior to the workshop.

This workshop approach incorporates what we’ve learned guiding management teams like yours in more than 40 industries to develop, update and implement growth plans for their business. It is particularly useful for privately held firms that grow talent internally.

Public Workshops Agenda

The same agenda is used for public workshops, with these exceptions:

  • Because participants may work at different organizations, we’ll use a third-party case study rather than a participant’s organization for the five process examples.

  • There is time available to address questions about specific planning situations that each participant is likely to encounter.

  • Participants who are external or internal consultants may decide to schedule a follow up call to discuss how the The River Trip℠ approach can be added to their portfolio of client services.

  • $750 fee per participant. The fee is non-refundable, but can be used for a different workshop date with 10-day notice.

  • The public workshop dates are offered most Friday weekdays, first com-come, first-served basis. Please click the link below to confirm availability.
